Rogers Smith & Co Victorian Silver Plate Fox Hunt Vanity Basket. Stunning Victorian silver-plate rectangular vanity basket with foxes mounted on clipped corners and accented on each side with horse head portrait medallions, finished with a tall swivel handle. The interior of the basket has a decorative floral etch. Interesting, classic and timeless piece to use on your table or to add to your collection. 11 1/8″ long and 9″ wide at the furthest points. 9 1/4 high to top of handle. Marked Rogers Smith & Co. Good overall antique condition with surface scratching, small areas of tarnish/patina and light pinkish staining, and an apparent repair to one side of the swivel handle with glue. For your consideration is a VICTORIAN ANTIQUE PICKLE CONDIMENT CASTOR BASKET by ROGERS BROS SILVER PLATE. It comes with an early american pattern glass oval ” Shell and Tassel” bowl. 11″ tall by 10″ Shell Tassel pattern glass in excellent condition with no signs of any abuse. Silver plate has a nice patina with some age appropriate wear. No dents, pitting or missing parts. Twist fork marked “extra plate”. Basket has a little wobble, one foot may need to be carefully adjusted to resolve this or leave as is.
