It is in good antique condition with age/use related wear, there is silver plate loss, scratches, indentations where the handle has hit the sides, and there is a dent on the bottom, there are also remnants of old silver polish. An American Aesthetic Silverplate Butter Dish and Stand, Meriden Britannia Co. Patent July 14, 1868, with telescopic cover and etched liner, height 12 1/2 in. Antique silver plate butter server produced by Meriden Item 4940 from the 1886 catalogue. This piece was produced by Meriden Company who bought out the 1847 Rogers bros company, The Meriden company been trading since the 1860s I would estimate this piece to be between 1862 and 1877 when it became Meriden Britannia Co. It stands at approx 12.5 inches tall. Its in good condition. Great confition: no corrosion, no any damage.

1865 ROGERS SMITH & CO. MERIDEN VICTORIAN AESTHETIC ROCOCO TEA COFFEE SET. Organized in 1857 by William Rogers Sr. The firm was merged in 1861 with Rogers Brothers Mfg Co under the presidency of William Rogers. The tools and the dies were bought in 1862 by Meriden Britannia Co transferring to Meriden the production of the 1847 Rogers Bros line under the direction of William Rogers. In 1863 Meriden Britannia Co bought the hollowware division. In 1865 the plating shop was transferred from New Haven to Meriden and merged with Meriden Britannia Co in 1866. Early aesthetic, set in good to very good conditions showing overall bright mirrored plating, no dents or monogram, there is no breaks or repairs, strong firm hinges, and complete insulators some signs of wear and use as pictured, the inside of both pots and slop bowl shows tear and wear, white metal base, perfect as display. Coffee pot 9 1/4″ by 8 1/2″ shy 2.9 lbs weight, Teapot 7″ by 8 1/4″, 1.8 lbs weight, sugar bowl/no lid, creamer and slop bowl.

Between 1877 and 1904, which means this set is between 119 and 146 years old. It has been well-preserved and is in excellent condition. The set includes a teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and waste bowl. All are elegantly designed, with interesting detail at the handles and finials to the teapot and sugar bowl which look Machine age.
