Silver Plate Rogers

Just cleaning all my old stuff in the house and found this vintage 125 pc. It’s still in that great condition it has always been in, see photos I took quite a few so that you could see every detail. There are some other “Rogers Bros” ware inside that come from other sets, but I just don’t have time to check them all, so I’m putting it up for 120 bucks, I would definitely think its worth more than that, but I’m just trying to get rid of it! The bowl and frame are WONDERFUL!! The bowl fits PERFECTLY in the frame. Great Condition – No Chips, Cracks Or Repairs. Also, no missing silverplate noted. This base bears the Rogers, Smith & Co. Quadruple plate mark for 1857 and the pattern #177. This is an altogether lovely piece that would make a wonderful centerpiece for a table, or a great addition to any art glass collection! The bowl fits perfectly in the frame and it measures approximately 18″ tall when the bowl is in place and approximately 11″ wide. This appears to have been someone’s prized possession and extremely well taken care of! About the Maker: ROGERS, SMITH & CO. Organized in 1857 by William Rogers Sr. The firm was merged in 1861 with Rogers Brothers Mfg Co under the presidency of William Rogers. The tools and the dies were bought in 1862 by Meriden Britannia Co transferring to Meriden the production of the 1847 Rogers Bros line under the direction of William Rogers. In 1863 Meriden Britannia Co bought the hollowware division. In 1865 the plating shop was transferred from New Haven to Meriden and merged with Meriden Britannia Co in 1866. Beautiful and hard to find American 19th Century Antique Ice Tongs in the “Persian” pattern Rogers Brothers established in 1847. The tongs are large measuring 9-1/2 in length. These tongs were not made in 1847 but rather during the latter part of the Century. This pair of tongs have markings on one of the narrow arms. It has 1847 Rogers Bros. Please, see photos to see the markings. The tongs are in excellent antique condition with normal light scuffs but no dents or nicks, no damage or repairs. Rare Rogers & Bro 1868 Insulated Ice Tea/ Lemonade Pitcher Walrus, Polar Bears. This is a GREAT piece the spout has Hunters going after Walrus and Polar Bear and a scallap shell. The sides have great hand done floral design. It has floral design around top and bottom. This is 12 1/4 tall and has emamel inner flask for insulation. This is in great condition with couple minor dings on base and couple minor ones on top edge. With the unusual scene around the spout this may have belonged to one of the early Polar Explorers.
