Silver Plate Rogers

Presented is a wonderful quality silver plated tureen made by Rogers & Brother. The tureen is done in the desirable Assyrian Head pattern which was first produced in 1887. The tureen has a beautiful band of raised decoration around the middle depicting the heads of classical figures interspersed with fancy flowers, scrolls and leaves. The lid is monogrammed with an L in Gothic script. The tureen is marked on the underside with Rogers & Bro. Meridian Britannia Company and Roger Smith & Co. Also made this exact pattern, although this piece is stamped by Rogers Brothers. These companies were interrelated. The tureen is in fair condition overall. There is a good amount of wear to the silver plating, as well as one dent on the lower part of the body and some other dings here and there. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The tureen measures 11 1/4 inches wide across the handles and 6 1/4 inches tall. The listing is for a silver plate / quadruple plate decanter, underplate and two goblets. They are all manufactured by Rogers & Smith Silver Company from the late 1800′s though they pieces are marked differently they all have the same manufacture marks. The company was founded in Hartford CT in 1857 and continued to manufacture under the company name alone until they became part of the International Silver Co. The underplate was made to hold the decanter only but the goblets will rest on the rim. The listing is for a Victorian silver plate / quadruple plate decanter, under plate and 2 goblets manufactured by the Rogers & Smith Silver Company. The company manufactured silver plate hollow ware from Hartford CT between 1857 and 1898 when they joined the International Silver Company. All 4 pieces were manufactured by Rogers & Smith, though each on is marked differently though they carry the same marks. The set is exceptional considering its age. The silver plate is shiny and bright and the set definitely makes a statement when displayed. Condition: The set is in good condition showing only light wear from use. There are no visible repairs or monograms. The silver plate is shiny as shown in the pictures and the inside of each piece is clean and usable. Size: The decanter stands 11.75 inches tall and measures 8.5 inches wide. Each goblet stands 6 inches tall and the under plate measures 10 inches wide. This is a beautiful vintage 7 piece tea set made by Wm. The set is silverplated and features an American Victorian pattern with an Art Nouveau style. The age of the set is unknown. It includes everything needed for a charming tea party. Tea pot, cream and sugar bowls, spoon, and two shakers. Shakers do not have stamps so not sure if they were originally with set.
