Serving for 12 plus butter knife & sugar spoon of Old Colony, 1847 Rogers Bros. Marked XR Triple, 16 DWT W/Case. Old Colony by 1847 Rogers introduced in 1911 and discontinued in 1973. This flatware pattern became one of the top silver-plate patterns and is certainly in demand today. The wreath of flowers combined with the diamond design at the top of the handle make for an elegant decorating set. That these pieces were plated three times in. 136 pieces of silverplate flatware in the Heraldic pattern. All forks, spoons and butter knives are marked 1847 Rogers and al the knives marked Insico which I believe merged companies at some point into International Silver. Anyway the pattern matches in the set and there are no monograms. There are 36 knives, 12 of each type 7 1/4″, 8 3/4″ and 9 3/4. THERE ARE 12 butter knives 5 3/4 that did not make the MAIN picture, these are marked Rogers, SEE 2nd photo. There are 36 forks, 12 of each type, 6 3/8″, 7″ and 7 1/2. There are 28 teaspoons 5 7/8″, 12 of the 5″ round bowl spoon and 12 of the 7 round bowl spoon. I see a handful of pieces where the “plate” is missing, this set was well taken care of and probably in storage for awhile. The knives are very good with very little if any scratching on blades, a few pit spots on a couple of them. Hope my photos show all, it is hard with this many pieces, let me know if you need more. This silver plate silverware set was made by Wm Rogers and is the Magnolia Inspiration pattern. It is a 52 piece set. It consists of 12 dinner knives (8.5″), 12 grille forks (7.5″), 12 spoons (6″), 12 large soup spoons (7″), 2 smaller rounded spoons, and 2 butter knives. Possibly even more valuable than the silverware is the Reed & Barton handcrafted wood storage chest. The chest has some small nicks and scratches and a very thin 3-4 hairline separation near one corner (see the close-up photo). It’s difficult to see unless you look closely – it’s in the left bottom corner on the photo. Overall this handcrafted chest is in very good vintage condition.
