The silver plate is in excellent condition with no areas that have worn thin over time. It has a number of dings and dents. There is one under the spout, around 5 or 6 on one side and small dent on the opposite side. The rim has a few bends and some dings along the edge. The lid is dented on one side and the finial on top is slightly bent as if it was dropped and landed on its head. It is also missing the pin that creates the hinge for the lid. The lid has Birthday Club engraved into it. Both sides are intricately engraved with a floral pattern of wheat, daisies and leaves. The interior is lined with a porcelain enameled metal that creates an air pocket as an insulator. The bottom is stamped with Rogers & Smith Co. Dates, June 13, 1868 and Nov. 3D, 1868 along with the number 193. It’s about 12″ high, 10 1/2″ from handle to spout and 6 1/2 in diameter at the base. It’s heavy, weighing 5 1/2 lbs.
