Silver Plate Rogers

The listing is for an aesthetic silver plate frame, manufactured by Wm. Rogers Silver Company and a cranberry thumbprint glass pickle caster insert. The frame features a floral design on each side and a swing handle which can be raised to stay in the upright position of folded down. The insert features a thumbprint design on cranberry glass. Condition: The silver plate frame is in good condition as shown. There are no monograms, dents or visible repairs. The cranberry glass insert is also in good condition with no discoloration to the glass. There are no chips or cracks to the glass and only a flea bite to the top rim as shown in pictures 8 and 11. The cover is not original to the glass insert. Size: It stands about 10 inches tall and measures 6.5 inches wide at the widest point. Set of antique cranberry glass shakers and a salt cellar on a Rogers & Bro. The shakers date to the same time period and have pewter two-piece tops, a cylinder shape with a small shoulder. They stand about 3 1/2 each. One has a thumbprint pattern (outside) while the other has an inverted thumbprint (IVT). The salt cellar is a small oval shape and appears to be ruby glass. The stand is stamped with the Rogers & Bro. Makers’ mark and “Triple Plate” plus 3832. The stand has a simple round handle and beautiful metal work on the three compartments for the glass inserts. It also sits on three very small swans as feet, which is a great touch. Was formed in Waterbury, CT in 1858 by Asa Jr. It became part of the International Silver Company in 1898.

9.25 Pickle Castor with a Cranberry Coinspot art glass insert with an Enamel Daisy Decor and a Rogers Smith Silver-Plated frame. Very good condition for its age with some natural patina and light scratching to the base from age and use. In my opinion the frame is the only original piece and is the only one that is stamped. The glass insert fits in the tray but Is slightly too large and the tongs are not an exact match to the pattering on the frame. This is a very scarce and very beautiful example. The cranberry glass jar features 6 sides; 3 sides feature beautiful enamel floral design. The other 3 sides features embossed vine design. The lid is perfect featuring no breaks or chips. The silverplated holder is marked for F. The base is highly decorative with decorative handle. The base shows some residue from years old polish. Rogers Silverplate Cranberry Sugar Caster Bowl Spooner with 12 Spoons. Beautiful details and motifs…. Marked under lid: J. Made in USA, Quadruple plate. Circa late 19th century to early 1900′s. Measures 9 inches total height. 8 1/2 inches total width handle to handle. Cranberry thumbprint glass insert measures 2 1/2 in. High by 4 1/2 in wide (has small rim chip see close up picture). 12 spoons each marked Pat 1904 WE Rogers (see picture) spoons are not original to the sugar caster but are very nice spoons that compliment the piece. Each spoon has a script monogram “C” on the handle. Spoons measure 5 3/4 in long. No issues noted to the frame, only a very tiny minimal amount of wear to silverplate nothing that stands out, no dents etc. Use pictures as further description. Please remember that vintage items and antiques will show some type(s) of wear and may have minor imperfections they have acquired through enduring time. Antique and vintage pieces are not new and may show wear and distress from age and use, this only adds to the items’ charm and character. A fabulous figural centerpiece for your antique sideboard, 17 “Long & 6 1/4″ wide. Made by Rogers & Smith Silversmiths in approximately 1860′s. The cranberry insert is in mint condition having a rigaree trim & the other side has a standing Angel with arm outstretched. (I think this is a replacement cranberry insert) there are Butterflies attached at the side & there is a little wear from a spoon to the inside. A fine addition to any Victorian decor.
