A nice vintage Rogers silver plated serving set. Includes a 7 inch coffee or tea pot, a sugar and creamer and a serving tray. All looks to be the same, the coffee pot is marked with #2307. Marked silver on copper. Tray measures about 12-1/2 inches across, 16 across the handles. Some mild finish wear and patina, no apparent damage. This listing is for a wonderful Victorian Period c. Measures 10″ high and 4″ wide. Weighs 2.0 pounds. The silver plated stand is decorated with two applied textured leaves across the front and back. The stand is stamped Rogers, Smith & Co. New Haven, Conn and is in very nice condition. Unusual octagonal clear blown glass insert with engraved floral design on each panel. The glass is in excellent condition although there is one tiny nick on upper edge (see photos). No other chips, cracks or repairs. The insert fits correctly into the stand and the lid fits appropriately on the insert. Silver lid is slightly pitted below rim. This is a set of silverplate flatware made by Wm. Rogers for International Silver. The pattern is called Moonlight aka Royal Victorian aka Lovelight and was first made in 1959. I do not know why so many different names were used. The 52 piece set includes. 10 Dinner Knives 8 1/2. 10 Dinner Forks 7 1/8. 10 Salad Forks 6 5/8. 10 Soup Spoons 6 3/4. 1 Slotted Tablespoons 8 1/2. 1 Master Butter Knife 6 3/4. 1 Sugar Spoon 5 3/4 The set is in excellent very lightly used condition with no heel marks. This is a wonderful older set of plated flatware made by Wm Rogers and Sons. Rogers is infamous for its history in the silver plate industry. The pattern is called La France, and dates back to 1920. Each piece is clearly marked on the under side with the name and date. The box is an original Wm Rogers and Sons also, and it presents in remarkable condition. There are 51 pieces to this set, all of which show some some wear with scratches from use. Otherwise, they look great, free of flaws or defects, and polished to a nice shine. Please view the photos to appreciate all the condition details. The 51 pieces break down as follows: 12 dinner knives, 12 dinner forks, 12 soup spoons, 12 teaspoons, 6 serving spoons, 1 meat fork, 1 sugar spoon, 1 butter knife. As for the box, it is great looking in dark wood and measures 15 and a 1/2 in by 11 and a 1/4 in. There is a cursive F engraved on most of the pieces which fits right in with the lightly patterned design. This particular flatware set has a sophisticated, old world, traditional look which will set a lovely table.
