Large vintage silver plated tea & coffee service by F. Comprising tray, teapot, coffee pot, tilting pot with stand and burner, sugar bowl and lid, creamer and waste pot. 29.5 from handle to handle. Total weight of the set is almost 20 lbs. Condition: The 3 pots have what appear to be vertical stress cracks which can be seen on close inspection but they held water without leaking when I filled them. Plating in good shape, no bare areas. I replaced one of the hinges with a section of thick wire and polished the set briefly before the time of listing. I want my buyers to be fully satisfied and I try to be fair and accurate with my descriptions. 1847 Rogers “Charter Oak” Design Chased Acorn & Oak Leaf Sugar Bowl & Lid! Stunning 1847 Rogers CHARTER OAK Design Sugar Bowl with Lid in Excellent Condition! Gorgeous Hand Chased & Repousse Oak Leaf & Acorns, and similar applied accents to match your Charter Oak pattern flatware. This elegant Sugar Bowl is quite scarce, especially with the Hand Chased detail! Wonderful condition, well preserved over the years. Brilliant mirror finish and beautiful crisp pattern! Hardly any scratches, no plate loss and free of dents and dings. Possibly re-plated because the appearance of the monogram is not very pronounced but not quite sure as the rest of the chased detail appears crisp. Faint script monogram on one side, tucked on the bottom of bowl. Freshly polished and ready for use! This lovely Sugar Bowl is 7 3/4″ tall with lid on, measured at the top of the handle, about 8″ from handle to handle and approximately 5 1/2 wide. This piece has no markings but more than likely Meriden Britannia, who made the early pieces in this pattern in the late 1800s. This design pre-dates the release of the 1847 Rogers Charter Oak Pattern, which was probably created due to the popularity of the Acorn & Oak Leaf design hollowware. This is a lovely sparkly silver plated punch set which has been used very little. It has a lovely grape design on the outer edge of the tray and top edge of the bowl.
