VERY RARE PIECE – THIS WAS DONE PRIOR TO FORMING THE COMPANY OF ROGERS BROS IN 1861. ITS AS OLD AS WILLIAM ROGERS GETS AND AT THE TIME IN 1857 HE WAS JOINTED BY GEORGE W SMITH. Its about 7 1/2 tall inc the handles THE PIECE IS EXCELLENT, SHOWING SEVERAL AREAS WHERE IT WAS HAND JOINED THE PIECES TO MAKE THIS. IT HAS ONE TINY PUSH IN ON THE BASE AND THAT CRACKED THE HEAVY PLATING ON THE BOTTOM RESULTING IN A SPOT OF CORROSION. NO POLISHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS ITS ORIGINAL TO US.
