From 1878 to 1893 the mark was used in silverplate flatware by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co under permission of William Rogers Jr. This mark continued to be used until 1976 in silverplated flatware and from 1938 to 1976 in hollowwareWilliam Rogers now known as Wm. Rogers was born in 1801 and died in 1873, and was an American silversmith who was a groundbreaking pioneer of the silverplate industry. Rogers’ designs were influenced by Louis XIV-style patterns of the 17th and 18th century in France, and he was best known for his Elberon pattern and “Presidential” cutlery series. RARE Antique Rogers Bros MFG Co Silver plate Large Beer Stein, Serving Pitcher. This pitcher is so RARE. It was made by Rogers Bros MFG Co. It’s marked on the bottom as shown in the photos. The company used this mark from 1853 to 1861. Please see all the photos for the condition and the dimensions. This large serving beer pitcher is in great condition for its age. It has some discoloration. It needs to get polished and cleaned. There are a couple of dent spots as shown in the photos. One is on the bottom and the other one around the pitcher. There are some scratches are shown in the photos. The tip of the finial on the top is broken off as shown in the photos. This item is large. The dimensions are about 16.5 X 10 X 8. 1847 Rogers Bros Eternally Yours Silver Plate Water Pitcher Model 1717. In good overall condition, there is some stubborn tarnish but nothing too bad, any condition issues are minor in nature and due to age and normal use.
