Vintage WM Rogers Silver Plated Round Serving Tray/Platter Number 855. Vintage WM Rogers Plate#855 with decorative pierced edge and Acanthus leaves scroll pattern decoration in the center of the platter with roped edge. The bottom of the plate is inscribed with the (Eagle) WM. Rogers (Star) emblem 855. Note: the number 855 is visible but. Rogers (Star) emblem also there but faded from age and long time of polishing. This is the individual mark used on coin and silver spoons (Hartford, CT, 1825 – 1841). From 1878 to 1893 the mark was used in silverplate flatware by Simpson Hall, Miller & Co under permission of William Rogers JR. This mark continued to be used until 1976 in silverplated flatware. In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The silver is bright and shiny. All imperfections are age related and we found a small dent in one corner. Please look at the pictures.
