AN AMERICAN SILVER-PLATED FIGURAL NAPKIN RING William Rogers Mfg. Hartford, Connecticut, circa 1875. HARTFORD CONN, QUADRUPLE, 244. 3.25 inches high, 7.2 ounces (gross) The napkin ring with Kate Greenaway-type girl facing a seated pug dog atop napkin holder, oval base with ball-feet. I believe the ring that the napkin slides through was once round and not oval and the inside is indented where the dogs front paws are. The finish is inconsistent in places. Please see the pictures. IN ORIGINAL BOX AND PACKAGING, NEVER USED. This is a beautiful, Vintage, Victorian age Inkwell Stand with Pen Holder and Pen that has never been used. Pen shows slight signs of age on tip. It is in its original box and packaging. Rogers Silver Company was founded in 1883 in Massachusetts. Products are known for being quadruple silver plated silver. Age of piece is unknown, best guess is between 1883 when company was founded, and 1955 when company changed names. Ad on cover of box leads one to believe closer to the later date. Pen holder comes separate as pictured with small washer and wingnut to secure to bottom of stand. No visible flaws, shiny and new. Sticker on bottom states Tarnish Resistant, clean with soft damp cloth, no silver polish, Japan. This is a super rare original1800′S antique figural napkin ring of an Eskimo riding on a sled. Seen on page 294 in Gottschalk & Whitson reference book. Plating is quite beautiful as it has been fully restored with plating showing only slight patina as seen in pictures. Where the sled curls at the front, there are tiny dents. I have not cleaned it.
