Vintage Rogers Smith & Co Silverplate Tea/Coffee set. Manufactured by Rogers Smith & Co while in New Haven Conn. Pattern suggests mid 1860s. Set includes two Pots, Covered Sugar and uncovered creamer. This is an ORIGINAL SET, and not from parts or pieces from different estates. They all have same stamps on the bottom, and have the same engraving. Two-Tone pattern with gloss and matte areas. Design incorporated Turret style tops with Pomegranate Finials on lids. On the bodies are an etched frame design with tassels hanging from the corners. On one side is a Wheat Stalk design. On the other side is a Peacock bird design. Bottom is marked with the New Haven, Conn. Location of Rogers Smith & Co. All pieces have been engraved’M. Parks’ for the original owner. Set is large, with 12″ Coffee pot and and 11″ high Tea pot. For collectors and designers, this set incorporates’Steam Punk’ design with the’cog’ design tops, and’vented’ designs at the tops and the base of the spouts. Also, the angled, scroll handles. BEAUTIFUL, uncommon design still in excellent condition. No damaged, or missing parts. Has a couple very minor dings. Relatively clean, but could use a good polishing. Hinged pot covers are excellent, with no damage or loose hinges. If you have questions, please ask!
