CIVIL WAR AESTHETIC FIGURAL SWAN HEART LEAF WEIGHTED TEAPOT. A company created in 1853 by William and Asa Jr. In 1856 William Rogers organized with George W. Smith the Rogers, Smith & Co. The two companies were consolidated in 1861 under the presidency of William Rogers. Original Civil war era extraordinary piece in outstanding excellent condition, showing an impressive solid quality manufacture with gerous plating and outstanding attention to detail, strong handle, both bone insulators, firm sturdy hinge, original solid figural final and wing nut, weighted base, clean inside with some signs of wear and use still hold the original finish, white metal base perfectly safe for use, no denting, monogram, repairs or wear specks, minor nicks and light scratching, overall very bright finish, with moderate signs of wear and age, rich patina enhancing contours, embossed and castings. 11′ by 8 7/8, 2.8 lbs weight before packing, holding the early company’s mark.
