Rogers Smith & Co (New Haven) Civil War Era Ornate Coffe Pot 1907 Pattern

Rogers Smith & Co. This unique and artistic relic was manufactured by the Rogers & Smith Company of New Haven, Ct. Between 1857 and 1866, when the company was moved to Meriden, Ct. After that date “New Haven” would not appear in the trade mark, being replaced by ” Meriden”. This piece is in Very Good Antique Condition, with the normal amount of minor dings and scratches for an artifact that has been around for a century and a half. There is a nice patina that matches the age of this piece. The finial top is missing. To mark the uniqueness of this object, it is inscribed “Nettie Hadley – 1878″. It was quite common for this type of item to be presented to a family member to commemorate a milestone, such as a graduation or a wedding, in the second half of the 19th Century, even many years after an item was produced. This historic Rogers Smith & Co. Coffee Pot is in its original condition. It has not been cleaned, repaired, or altered in any way.
