Outstanding midcentury modern set of silverplate flatware in the 1847 Rogers Bros pattern FLAIR, introduced in 1956. This is a complete service for 12, and in the original blond laminated wood chest. Each piece has simple but solid and heavy gently curved handle, and the pieces are marked 1847 Rogers Bros. 12 DINNER KNIVES, each 9-1/4 long and slotted in 2 fitted layers. 1 SLOTTED SERVING SPOON, 8-1/2. 1 VEGETABLE TABLE SERVING SPOON, 8-1/2. 1 COLD MEAT FORK, 9. 1 MASTER BUTTER KNIFE. 1 GRAVY LADLE, 5-1/4. 1 MEAT CARVING FORK, 11-1/2. The display-worthy original chest measures 18″ x 12″ and it is 5 tall. It has modernist aluminum metal handle in front and stands on 4 silver legs. It has nice tight fit and has kept this set in near pristine condition, very minimal amount of tarnish but otherwise the flatware looks unused. There is a large water stain in the bottom of the turquoise satin lining of the chest. Nothing else to mention, set looks almost untouched since it was probably given as a wedding gift in 1956.
