Silver Plate Rogers

This is a great ca 1938 Silverplate flatware set in the wm Rogers Devonshire pattern. The set consists of 8 knives 6 dinner forks, 6 salad forks, 12 teaspoons, 7 large spoons, 2 serving spoons and 1 soup spoon. The set is in nice vintage condition with some age related wear and scratches. The one soup spoon was added to the collection because it was found in another set and matched the pattern. I’m not sure if the box is original, but it works nicely with the set. The set includes the original guarantee certificate from the Wm Rogers company. This silverplate flatware service for eight with storage chest is in the International Silver Imperial pattern from 1939, marked under the Wm Rogers brand. The eight place settings include dinner knives, grille forks, salad forks, teaspoons, and oval soup spoons. Serving pieces include two serving spoons, a pie or dessert server, master butter knife, sugar spoon, and jelly server. The box is lined in red anti-tarnish cloth. It was originally meant to hold service for twelve. Inside the silverware set is the original Wm Rogers certificate of guarantee. The silver has been polished to a high shine and is in excellent condition. There are no dings, no plate loss, and only light surface use or storage marks. The box has some scratching to the lid as shown. Almost all my items are antique or vintage and come from a variety of sources. I cannot guarantee that any item is from a smoke-free or pet-free home. This set show very little wear. The knives have a mirror finish blade. Bright, Clean and Ready to use. Storage box measures 14 3/4″ x 11″ x 5. The box has a bottom drawer. Box has very slight surface marks or scratches. There are some water spots inside the box and 5 worn areas inside lid. All measurements are approximate. This is a retired 49 piece silverplate flatware set by S. Included are the following pieces. Qty of 8 Dinner Knives each 9 in length. Qty of 16 Teaspoons each 6 in length. This pattern is a beautiful Art Deco pattern as pictured. Many pieces were never used and the others have normal light surface scratches from use and age.
