Early 1900s Wm Rogers, seven pieces including a Kettle with Warmer, Coffee Pot (10 1/4″), Teapot (9 1/2″), Sugar Bowl with Cover, Creamer, Waste Bowl, and Silver plated Waiter (28 1/4″ x 16 3/8″). Started business in 1865… The company produced silverplate carrying their name and in 1866 brought out a brand stamped Wm. In 1879, the firm consolidated with the Rogers Cutlery Co (started in 1871) and William H. Watrous, president of the cutlery company, was made president of the two branches. The company was primarily a maker of silverplated flatware but in the 1880s and 90s offered a fairly externsive line of plated hollowware. This was made by others in the area but trademarked and finished in their own factory. The operation was moved to Meriden in 1903 and took over the factory formerly occupied by C. When the [International Silver] Companys Flatware Center was built in 1968, the operation moved there and the old buildings were put up for sale.
