Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Rogers & Bro reinforced silverplate flatware set produced by the International Silver Company in Meriden, Connecticut. This is a complete 52-piece mid-century set dating to the 1950s-1960s era and comes with its original tarnish-resistant wood storage chest and original paperwork certificate. Each piece features a classic floral handle design with a polished silverplate finish over a durable base metal, commonly referred to as reinforced plate. The set is in very good pre-owned condition with light surface wear consistent with age and storage. There is minimal tarnish present, and the pieces display very well. The problem with this idea is that none of her children ended up with children of their own or a large group of socially inclined friends, and the irritating nature of decorative flatware (since it cannot be washed in the dishwasher but must be specially cleaned and polished) precludes its frequent use. Therefore, it was time to pass this along to someone who might actually use it. It is the “Flirtation” pattern from the Oneida Community within the “1881 Rogers” line. The box is branded AMC and reads “YOUR MARK OF QUALITY / TARNISH PROOF CHEST” on a sticker inside the lid. The box has a hinged top compartment and a pull-out lower drawer. The lower drawer, in addition to the flatware contents, also contains a cloth bag marked “STRAWBRIDGE & CLOTHIER / PHILADELPHIA” and an unopened package of Hagerty Silver Protection Strips with stickering from the Oneida Factory Store. This set contains eighty pieces of assorted flatware (mostly forks and spoons, with twelve knives and several one-off larger pieces such as a soup tureen serving spoon or a slotted butter knife). Many of these pieces, including all of the’one-offs’, are still shrinkwrapped in plastic sleeves. Each item is marked “1881 ROGERS” and “ONEIDA LIMITED” on the reverse side of the handles, with the exception of the knives, which are entirely unmarked. In keeping with common convention, the knife blades, and perhaps the handles as well, are highly likely to be stainless steel; all other items in the set can be assumed to be fully silverplate. This silverplate set is in good used condition, especially considering its age. Some pieces are stained, scuffed, and/or tarnished, but most appear gleaming and beautiful, and many have never even been unwrapped from the original shrink-wrapped protective sleeves (see pictures). The box is scuffed in several places. My offering is CONSIDERABLY cheaper!

93 pc 1847 Rogers IS Daffodil Flatware Silverware Set Serving Extras Org. Service for 12 Wm A Rogers Silver Plate Daffodil Pattern Silverware 93 pcs. Previously owned but in great condition, please see pics. At first I thought they were never used. I see slight wear And theyve been taken care of very well. Only one shows some tarnish on it. No dings or dents or bends. No attempt to clean or polish has been made. 1 Pastry pie server pierced in the shape of a daffodil. 1 Jelly spoon server. 1 Meat fork (this one is the tarnished one). 1 Tomato server with the cut out in the shape of a daffodil. It comes with the original long storage case with tarnish proof interior. It measures 19 inches long by 11 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It is in good condition, There are some scratches and scuffs on it from use a little chip on one leg. The interior is beautiful in March 1847 Rogers Bros. There is one slit from the knife that has come and unlodged. It includes the original sales receipt Lynn-mar jewelers in Minneapolis back when the telephone numbers were just 4522. I believe its from the 40s- 50s. Another piece of paperwork has a list on the back of pieces you could invite to add to your set End it had a year on it for 1951? And that might be when she picked up the extra serving pieces or something also.
