1950 MIDCENTURY DAFFODIL1847 ROGERS MERIIDEN B CO. CHASED ORNATE SERVING TRAY. Meriden Britannia Co Ltd, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (founded 1879) was a subsidiary of Meriden Britannia Company of Meriden, Connecticut. It produced 1847 Rogers Bros silverplate, sterling silver flatware, silverplated nickel silver and white metal hollowware. In 1924 International Silver Company incorporated International Silver Company of Canada, Ltd with its Canadian subsidiaries Meriden Britannia Co Ltd (Hamilton, Ontario), Standard Silver Co of Toronto Ltd (Toronto, Ontario) and William Rogers Manufacturing Company Ltd (Niagara Falls, Ontario). Original scarce piece the largest within this collection able to hold the complete set includind coffer urn and or tilting, showing original bright mirrored plating no cuts or deep scratching crispy raised chased and detailed solid huge castings shaping the frame and handles with the vine and foral pattern some nicks around the edge no sharp denting or monogram perfect to match older sets 27 1/2″ handle to handle by 17 1/4″ and impressive 10.
