Silver Plate Rogers

Presented is a wonderful quality silver plated tureen made by Rogers & Brother. The tureen is done in the desirable Assyrian Head pattern which was first produced in 1887. The tureen has a beautiful band of raised decoration around the middle depicting the heads of classical figures interspersed with fancy flowers, scrolls and leaves. The lid is monogrammed with an L in Gothic script. The tureen is marked on the underside with Rogers & Bro. Meridian Britannia Company and Roger Smith & Co. Also made this exact pattern, although this piece is stamped by Rogers Brothers. These companies were interrelated. The tureen is in fair condition overall. There is a good amount of wear to the silver plating, as well as one dent on the lower part of the body and some other dings here and there. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The tureen measures 11 1/4 inches wide across the handles and 6 1/4 inches tall.
