On offer is this magnificent offering of vintage Stanley Rogers silver plated’Kings’ cutlery suite. An ever popular pattern with shells and scrolls on the front and rear of the handles. A whopping 151 pieces, it is a 15 place setting for 8 people plus serving extras. 8x dinner knives: 24.5cm in length. 8x dinner forks: 20.7cm in length. 8x entree knives: 21.3cm in length. 8x entree forks: 18.3cm in length. 8x dessert spoons: 18.1cm in length. 8x soup spoons: 17.4cm in length. 8x wide dessert spoons: 14cm in length. 8x oyster forks: 13.8cm in length. 10x teaspoons: 13.4cm in length. 8x coffee/demitasse spoons: 11.6cm in length. 8x grapefruit spoons (pointed tip): 14.2cm in length. 8x grapefruit knives (curved tip, cerated blade): 20.1cm in length. 8x fruit knives (pointed tip): 18.5cm in length. 8x fish knives: 20.5cm in length. 8x fish forks: 18.5cm in length. 8x cake forks (larger): 13.9cm in length. 8x cake forks (smaller): 12.2cm in length. Pieces are mostly stamped’Stanley Rogers’Kings” or’Rogers Rex’ and all are silver plated, except the blades of the knives which are stainless steel. Some minor surface scratches commensurate with age/use. Note that I’ve not polished – you may wish to do this. Some minor scuff to the canteens. In their Daffodil pattern, c. 1950, the set polishes to a bright, clear luster, showing a history of gentle use and care. No plate loss, rub marks, dents, bends, or other compromising imperfections seen. Expected light surface scratching is visible on close inspection along with a few spots of minor oxidation, with wear appropriate for age and history. The hallmark is seen on the back of the handles. The case is in fair condition and will likely need replacing sooner rather than later, but currently functions as intended. Various scratches, corner bumps, and loss of veneer can be seen, along with staining to the felt interior. Please review the photos as they are a descriptive part of the listing.
