You are looking at an old 100 pc lot of silver plate flatware spoons by companies like Embassy, 1881 Rogers, Oneida and others. These items are pictured with measurement for scale and do show wear from age and use with scratches, scuffs and some corrosion and tarnish. There are also some slight bends. There are no monograms in this lot. The largest of these items measures, 8 1/4″ L x 1 3/4″ W, the smallest is, 5 1/8″ L x 15/16″W. This is an incredible three-piece silverplate carving set in the ornate 1892 Art Nouveau-influenced pattern Grecian by International. The pattern is quite striking and aesthetically pleasing. Included is the following: one 14″ carving knife, one 11″ carving fork, and one 13 knife sharpener. The knife is marked By Appointment Thomas Turner & Co. To the Late King George V, Sheffield, England. ” The fork is marked “Royal Brand Cutlery Co. Sheffield England, ” and the sharpener is marked “Latham & Owen, Sheffield England. This is unusual, considering pieces of this pattern were often marked with 1847 Rogers Bros. The pattern was in limited distribution, and is extremely rare to find in modern times. Ornamental eating utensils, especially non-essential pieces, were indicators of status and wealth for middle-class households at this time. While the set has noticeable wear from age and use, it is in acceptable condition and would make an ideal addition to an elegant mealtime occasion. Feel free to message me with questions. ROGERS HEAVY 19 Silver Plated Serving Tray. This is a magnificent piece and its in PERFECT condition with no dings, dents, pits, monogram or plate loss. The piece has just come back from the silversmith where it has been completely re-silvered. The piece is ready to go straight back into service. If you look at the picture that is towards the end of the piece showing the back side. It may look as if the item is dented. I assure you that it is not, it is just a glare in the picture that is all. The piece is properly marked on the reverse as you can see. The piece is quite heavy and is the type of silver plate that your grandmother would have had. This type of silver plate was made by hand and is not at all like the pieces that are made today by machine. You cannot find silver pieces like this anymore, only in antique store, auctions etc. Since this piece has been re-silvered you should never have to have it re-silvered again in your lifetime. You will be glad to pass this down to your children and to theirs. The piece lays flat and measures 18 3/4 inches. A fabulous piece to add to any collection or to give as a very fine gift!
