Wm A Rogers Antique Silver Plate 1895 Victorian Punch Bowl with 12 Gilt Punch Cups. While this perfectly beautiful Victorian 13-piece punch bowl set is not perfect, it is very impressively vibrant. The 130-year old #4991 Victorian punch bowl set was made by the Wm A Rogers Company in 1895. That it has survived intact with all of its pieces is amazing! The form is classic, civilized and stately, with an outer rim circled in horizontal lines as the set’s ornamentation. The twelve punch cups are unusual in their presentation as “mini” coffee or tea cups, with the bowls setting atop pedestals, matching the master punch bowl. Each interior of the punch cups was gilded, and each has a different intensity of remaining gilt. Some interiors have spots of staining. The status of the entire 12-piece set of gilt punch cups is in very good antique condition, with no dents. The punch bowl is in fair but serviceable antique condition. It is common to find that acidity in antique and vintage silver plate punch bowls have caused interior erosion. This punch bowl’s discolorations on the interior of the bowl surface include scratching from punch bowl ladle usage, and spots of base metal showing through due to acidity. Its exterior has both a very nice “best face” when positioned on the table with intention, with considerable areas of discoloration scattered on its exterior. This set appears to be “rare” in modern availability. The punch bowl stands 8″ high, is 12″ in diameter, and is 7 1/2 deep. Its matching punch cups are 2″ high, 4″ from handle to rim, and are 3 1/4 in diameter.
