Please NOTE there is some plate loss on the edges of the knives and a small amount of plate loss on the backs of some of the forks. We are pleased to offer a lot of 4 beautiful silverplated hollow handle serving pieces in Assyrian Head from 1847 Rogers Bros. The design is ornate faces depicting Assyrian men and women; it was introduced in 1886. The handle features iconic faces along with the ornate pinwheel. 2 piece salad serving set, lightly gold washed tines and bowl, fork 10″ long, spoon 10 3/8″. Cheese scoop, all original, 9 1/2 long. Cake or pie server, bowl has winged sides, 10 3/4 long. A nice find for the serious collector; it is quite uncommon for so much of this particular pattern to surface, so don’t miss out! Please check our other items. Condition: All pieces are in excellent condition as are the bowls and tines. The extra large hollow handles are exceptionally well decorated and the pieces are extremely clean, crisp and detailed. There are no monograms, silver loss or shadows other than a couple of pinhead sized specks in the salad spoon bowl. Top half of the handle is shaped by sinuous curvy lines with a deep flat surface where heaved sculpted roses, buds, leaves, and vines rest all along the hold, framed with a border of raised scrolls flowing with a whiplash force that seems to be embracing them, a very romantic Art Nouveau pattern.
