This is a wonderful older set of plated flatware made by Wm Rogers and Sons. Rogers is infamous for its history in the silver plate industry. The pattern is called La France, and dates back to 1920. Each piece is clearly marked on the under side with the name and date. The box is an original Wm Rogers and Sons also, and it presents in remarkable condition. There are 51 pieces to this set, all of which show some some wear with scratches from use. Otherwise, they look great, free of flaws or defects, and polished to a nice shine. The 51 pieces break down as follows: 12 dinner knives, 12 dinner forks, 12 soup spoons, 12 teaspoons, 6 serving spoons, 1 meat fork, 1 sugar spoon, 1 butter knife. As for the box, it is great looking in dark wood and measures 15 and a 1/2 in by 11 and a 1/4 in. There is a cursive F engraved on most of the pieces which fits right in with the lightly patterned design. This particular flatware set has a sophisticated, old world, traditional look which will set a lovely table.
