Offered is this lovely service for EIGHT of silverplate flatware patented in 1904 by 1847 Rogers. This popular and collectible pattern is called “Vintage, ” a classic design of grape clusters and leaves in the late Victorian tradition. This set is comprised of EIGHT dinner knives. Teaspoon, 24 pieces in all. The knives measure 9.5 inches long (24.3 cm). These have the wide silver-plated blade with 1847 Rogers marked on the blade. The forks measure 7.5 inches long (19 cm). The teaspoons measure 5 inches long (12.8 cm). Very good used condition with no heel wear. The wide silverplated knife blades are in very good condition. The item will be insured. Circa 1870 Renaissance Victorian silverplate ice water pitcher, Rogers, Smith & Co New, Haven, CN, under two patents, 1-Jas Stimpson 1854 & 1868 reissue (double-wall insulating body), 2-WW Lyman, 1858 (hollow double-wall flap, gravity operated, shutting in body of double wall / throat of spout). Silverplate double-wall body, scrolled engraved design of scrolling ivy with stippled leaves, Egyptian Revival lady head on open handle with rosette and palmette motif, hinged double-wall lid with palmette/berry motif on square finial, ears of corn & basket motif under spout with ribbon tied double torches on top of spout. 12 tall, 10 spout to handle, 7 dia base. Weight- 4.5 lbs. Condition solid, no breaks or repairs, shows some wear to silver, two light dents on one side of body. Rogers, Smith & Co.
