1860 AESTHETIC ROGERS SMITH GODESS BUST CAST APPLIED ASSYRIAN HEAD TEAPOT. ROGERS, SMITH & CO. Organized in 1857 by William Rogers Sr. The firm was merged in 1861 with Rogers Brothers. The tools and the dies were bought in 1862 by Meriden Britannia Co transferring to Meriden the production of the 1847 Rogers Bros line under the direction of William Rogers. In 1863 Meriden Britannia Co bought the hollowware division. In 1865 the plating shop was transferred from New Haven to Meriden and merged with Meriden Britannia Co in 1866. A 150 years old original early aesthetic piece original manufacturing in excellent conditions. No dents monogram breaks or repairs, detailed embossed applied around the bod7y and shaping the handle clean inside no corrosion or build up. Original substantial plating 5 1/2″ by 10 1/4″ 1.12 lbs weight and 45.
