This is a fabulous Victorian brides basket featuring very detailed TWO figural Full Bodied Cherubs Pulling a Cart with a THIRD Cherubs hitching a ride on the back!! The OUTSTANDING ART GLASS bowl is a RARE Hand Blown Peachblow Enameled Bowl – made by Webb. This bowl was probably not the original bowl to this but they look very good together! The Cart is fully marked with the Rogers Brothers Triple Plate Mark. The bowl and frame are WONDERFUL!! Great Condition – No Chips, Cracks Or Repairs. Also, no missing silverplate noted. This is an altogether lovely piece that would make a wonderful centerpiece for a table, or a great addition to any art glass collection! Measures approximately 20 1/2″ long when the bowl is in place and approximately 11 3/4″ tall. This appears to have been someone’s prized possession and extremely well taken care of! 1st c1857 until they merged with Rogers & Bros. On August 12th, c1862. The design on the stand is the most unusual we have had and features a sea of coral surrounding a conch shell and sea weed on the base and the finish on the top of the stand resembles water with a crab in the center. The coral is so realistic you can almost imagine that it would be pink. We believe that there would have been a clear glass plate on the top which would allow the details on the top to be viewed through the glass. There are no monograms or visible repairs and the silver plate is lovely and over 140 years old. It stands about 7.5 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide measuring across the handles. The indention for holding a glass plate or the rim of the plate is 7 1/8 inches wide and the height of the lip is ABOUT 3/8 inches tall. Please ask questions or request additional pictures. This is a definitely a one of a kind and you wont find another. Our items are mostly Victorian and are not new and there may be imperfections due to the age of the item which we try to show in the pictures. Organized in 1857 by William Rogers Sr. The firm was merged in 1861 with Rogers Brothers Mfg Co under the presidency of William Rogers. The tools and the dies were bought in 1862 by Meriden Britannia Co transferring to Meriden the production of the 1847 Rogers Bros line under the direction of William Rogers. In 1863 Meriden Britannia Co bought the hollowware division. In 1865 the plating shop was transferred from New Haven to Meriden and merged with Meriden Britannia Co in 1866.
