1847 Rogers “Charter Oak” Design Chased Acorn & Oak Leaf Sugar Bowl & Lid! Stunning 1847 Rogers CHARTER OAK Design Sugar Bowl with Lid in Excellent Condition! Gorgeous Hand Chased & Repousse Oak Leaf & Acorns, and similar applied accents to match your Charter Oak pattern flatware. This elegant Sugar Bowl is quite scarce, especially with the Hand Chased detail! Wonderful condition, well preserved over the years. Brilliant mirror finish and beautiful crisp pattern! Hardly any scratches, no plate loss and free of dents and dings. Possibly re-plated because the appearance of the monogram is not very pronounced but not quite sure as the rest of the chased detail appears crisp. Faint script monogram on one side, tucked on the bottom of bowl. Freshly polished and ready for use! This lovely Sugar Bowl is 7 3/4″ tall with lid on, measured at the top of the handle, about 8″ from handle to handle and approximately 5 1/2 wide. This piece has no markings but more than likely Meriden Britannia, who made the early pieces in this pattern in the late 1800s. This design pre-dates the release of the 1847 Rogers Charter Oak Pattern, which was probably created due to the popularity of the Acorn & Oak Leaf design hollowware.
